Consideration of Additional Pile Loads Due to Forces of Loading Friction in Soils Prone to Slump-Type Settlement

  • Published:
Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering Aims and scope

Abstract

Basic factors affecting additional pile loadings due to forces of loading friction that develop during the slump-type settlement of soils under their own weight are described. Suggestions for determination of design loads on piles are given with consideration of these factors.
