Abstract
The 4f-luminescence of neodymium in complexes with macrocyclic Schiff bases was studied. Relation between the type of the macrocyclic ligand and the luminescence efficiency was examined. The luminescence intensity depends on the number of chromophoric aromatic fragments in the ligand, that act as “photoantennas,” i.e. as accumulators of excitation energy.
