Probabilistic Distributions of the Density of Dislocations in Steel

Materials Science Aims and scope

Abstract

It is discovered that the distribution of density of dislocations in corrosion-resistant steels depends on the type of functional relationship between the yield strength and density of dislocations. For a linear model of hardening, this is a normal distribution. At the same time, for a parabolic model, this is a Weibull-type law with singularity in the region of low densities of dislocations. The distributions obtained for high values of density differ insignificantly.
