Numerical Investigation of Off-Design Regimes of Flow Past Power-Law Waveriders Based on the Flows Behind Plane Shocks

Abstract

The results of a numerical investigation of supersonic off-design flow past waveriders at the freestream Mach numbers M = 4 and 8 are presented. Flow regimes with M both greater and smaller than the design value M d are analyzed. Configurations based on the flows behind plane shocks and described by power-law functions are considered. The results are obtained by the finite-volume solution of the Euler equations using higher-order TVD Runge-Kutta schemes.
