Abstract
Sorption of Fe(III) cations on Cambrian blue clay is discussed in term of the Langmuir isotherm. The thermodynamic characteristics of sorption were determined. The Gibbs energies of formation of sorbed Fe(III) aqua and hydroxo cations were calculated. The role of hydroxo complexes in sorption was considered.
