Lightfast Polyamide Textile Fibres

  • Published:
Fibre Chemistry Aims and scope

Abstract

The qualitative composition of two grades of titanium dioxide from Kronos International (Germany) was investigated by emission spectral analysis. The expediency of replacing Kronos 1074 TiO2by Kronos 1077 for more uniform matting and higher fibre spinning stability is demonstrated. The possibility of increasing the thermal stability and light fastness of textile fibre matted with Kronos 1077 TiO2 by additional incorporation of the antioxidant Irganox 1098 in the PA 6 melt in the spinning stage is established.
