An Estimate of the Error of Measurements of the Integral Radar Characteristics of Objects Situated Above the Interface between Different Media

  • Published:
Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

Abstract

Methodological aspects of the process of measuring the radar cross-section of an object situated above the interface between different media are considered. The potential errors of a technique of performing measurements of the radar cross-section that employ correction factors to eliminate the influence of the subjacent surface are estimated. It is shown that similar techniques produce a measurement error of about 4–5 dB.
