Abstract
It is shown that the long-wave approximation of classical optics for the complex index of refraction is valid for radiation with wavelength 10.6 μm. The absorption efficiency factors for platinum conductors with diameters of 3, 10, and 20 μm as functions of temperature are calculated. It is established that the diameter of the conductor does not have any effect on the normalized temperature dependence of the absorption efficiency factor.
