Abstract
Standard Förster exciton transfer theory and dielectric screening of the rate constant description is discussed in connection with a simple quantum model of the donor–acceptor system interacting with a two-level system as a surrounding medium. Results of the perturbational analysis are compared with the Förster rate constant and the resulting dynamical permittivity is given connection with polarizabilities of the medium as its active response to presence of the donor–acceptor system.
