Abstract

Procedure for calculating the distribution of local filtration coefficients in a non-uniform capillary-porous medium was developed. Macropore and mesopore diameters and surface areas were determined by the image analysis of polished sections of several soil samples in real and enlarged scale. The model of pore space structure which considers hierarchical organization was suggested. It was shown that the sizes of inter- and intraaggregate pores and local filtration coefficients are characterized by lognormal distributions.
