Abstract
The effect of intraatomic absorption of the Lβ1 X-ray emission line of uranium was studied. To eliminate the effect of the L I I I absorption edge on the chemical shift (δ) of the Lβ1 line, the dependence of δLβ1 on the oxygen index x in oxide systems of variable composition UO2 + x was determined indirectly. It was shown that, in the absence of the effect of the L I I I absorption edge, the dependence of δLβ1 on x is ordinary and, as in the case of other hard emission lines of the uranium L series, can be described by a second-order polynomial. The abnormal dependence of δLβ1 on x is explained.
