Abstract
A software system designed for simulating Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and Gigabit Ethernet local area networks (LAN) is described. Implementation-specific features of programs simulating the operation of switch-based full-duplex and half-duplex networks are considered. A subsystem for simulating the stochastic behavior of programs based on full-duplex LAN protocols is described.
