Abstract
An original heat- and fire-resistant aramid fibre that has broad textile applications and combines the favorable economic indexes of meta-aramid fibres with elevated fire resistance and hygroscopicity was developed as a result of research conducted at the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Polymer Fibres (ASRIPF) with pilot plant and Tver'khimvolokno Open Joint-Stock Company. Production of thermostable and fireproof Tverlana fibre on the industrial scale is planned.
