Analysis of Processes at a Catalyst Pellet Involved in a Complex Heterogeneous Catalytic Reaction

Abstract

A set of differential equations based on the Fick and Fourier laws that describes heat and mass transfer at a catalyst pellet during a complex heterogeneous catalytic reaction is investigated. Linear correlations are established between the concentrations of the dependent and key substances (diffusion stoichiometry relationships) and between the temperature and the concentrations of the key substances. Similar relationships are drawn for the boundary conditions of the external diffusion problem. A difference scheme is suggested for the relationships obtained.
