Preparation of Aluminum Hydroxide Gel by AC Electrolysis

  • Published:
Inorganic Materials Aims and scope

Abstract

Aluminum hydroxide gel was prepared by ac (50 Hz) electrolysis in various electrolytes. The process parameters were optimized so as to raise the oxidation rate of aluminum. The phase changes caused by air calcination of the initially amorphous material were followed by x-ray diffraction and differential thermal analysis.
