Abstract
A commercial analyzer was tested for on-line monitoring of fermentations. A new sample block was constructed to effectively degas the fermentation broth. The robust analyzer accurately measured glucose up to 110 mmol/l and lactate up to 21 mmol/l at a frequency of 1 measurement per 2 minutes directly in suspensions of mammalian and yeast cells.
