State Equations for Soils Prone to Slump-Type Settlement with Allowance for Degree of Wetting

  • Published:
Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering Aims and scope

Abstract

Equations of state of soils prone to slump-type settlement, which take into account the degree of wetting in the initial stage, are developed on the basis of familiar models of the deformation of continua. Moreover, parameters characterizing the strength characteristics (indicators) of the soils are treated as functions dependent on degree of wetting.
