Abstract
Application of the effective-medium approximation for studying diffusion-controlled electrochemical reactions that occur during the discharge of the positive electrode of a lead–acid battery is considered in detail. Effect of the electrode thickness on the discharge and development of percolation processes, following the clogging of pores by discharge products, is examined.
