Abstract
The hydroxy carboxylic acid 1,6-dimethyl-1-hydroxymethyl-6-carboxybicyclo[2.4.0]-2-nonene crystallizes in the space group Pca2 1 (No. 29) with a = 18.563(1), b = 6.393(1), c = 20.750(1) Å, and Z = 8. The two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit each exhibit intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonding and have closely similar geometries and conformations.
