Densities of States and Photoelectron Spectra of Iron Disilicide

Russian Physics Journal Aims and scope

Abstract

The results of band calculations of the α-phase of iron disilicide by the linearized method of associated plane waves are presented. The electronic state densities and the photoelectron spectra are calculated for film and bulk samples as functions of the excitation energy. A comparison of the results obtained with the available experimental data allows the main features in the formation of the valence band of the film and bulk materials to be analyzed. It is demonstrated that the main features of the photoelectron spectra of iron disilicide are largely caused by energetically localized d-states of iron.
