Features of Powder Material Deformation with Cyclic Loading

  • Published:
Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics Aims and scope

Abstract

The porous structure and features of deformation and failure for especially pure iron powder in the porosity range from 0 to 30% are studied. A uniform reduction in fatigue endurance with an increase in porosity is established. The dependence of ultimate intensity of deformation on porosity is not monotonous in nature with a maximum that is approximately at Π = 13%. The form of the dependence of fatigue properties on porosity is connected with changes in porous structure.
