Abstract
2-Ethyl-2-methyl-5-methylene-1,3-dioxolan-4-one and 5-methylene-2,2-pentamethylene-1,3-dioxolan-4-one were synthesized by reaction of β-chlorolactic acid with methyl ethyl ketone and cyclohexanone, respectively, followed by dehydrochlorination of intermediate 5-chloromethyl derivatives.
