Mechanisms of Initiated Protein Peroxidation Accompanied by Generation of Carbonyl Fragments

Abstract

Regularities of the peroxide fragmantation of human serum albumin, initiated by an iron(II) salt and hydrogen peroxide, are considered. A chain mechanism is proposed for this process, leading to generation of carbonyl fragments of the protein molecule.
