Abstract
This paper reports on the results of an XPS study and FP–LMTO and TB–LMTO band structure calculations of the electronic structure of transition metal systems in the crystalline and disordered (amorphous, liquid, and quasicrystalline) states. Valence band structure is modeled in relation to the occupation of the valence d- and p-shells of the alloy components, chemical bonding, concentration, and temperature.
