Abstract
A series of pendant-arm Schiff base macrocycles have been obtained via the cyclocondensation reaction between sodium 2,6-diformyl-4-substitutedphenolates and tris-(2-aminoethyl)- amine derivatives followed by transmetallation with Cu(ClO4)2·6H2O. The resulting dinuclear copper(II) complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, infrared and mass spectra as well as magnetic moments at room temperature. All complexes have been electrochemically investigated, and two typical compounds have been studied with ESR spectra as well.
