Abstract
Superconducting copper-oxides are modeled by a two-band Hubbard type modelHamiltonian which explicitly includes on-site and intersiteelectron–phonon interactions. The effects of both on theantiferromagnetic and superconducting state properties are investigated. Inthe antiferromagnetic regime the on-site electron–phonon interactionsinduce a squeezing of the band energies and an isotope effect on theantiferromagnetic transition temperature T N is predicted. In thesuperconducting phase the intersite electron–phonon couplings gainimportance and induce a large increase in T c especially if the difference inband energies is large.
