Abstract
The collapse of spherically symmetric selfgravitating charged perfect fluids is formulated following a procedure developed by Gatreau. The geodesic nature of the coordinate frame lead naturally to newtonian like expressions for the exact Einstein-Maxwell description. Moreover, the use of this single frame leads to a natural junction of exterior and interior metrics at the boundary of the distribution. A specific example is considered in some detail.
