Frakturen der unteren Extremität haben schwere Auswirkungen auf Mobilität und Autonomie älterer Menschen. Durch die Therapie Frakturbegünstigender Faktoren wie z. B. Osteoporose oder Sarkopenie kann der Geriater in Kooperation mit dem Chirurgen die Prognose seiner Patienten verbessern und das Frakturrisiko senken.
