Welcome to the supplement issue of Medical Science Educator dedicated to the 26th Annual Meeting of the International Association of Medical Science Educators. This year the theme of the conference was “Healthcare Educators, Learner, and Providers: Building the Future Together”. The meeting took place in Denver, Colorado (USA) on June 4–7, 2022. As per tradition, we present in this annual supplement the abstracts of the posters and oral presentations that were accepted for presentation at the meeting.

I am honored to present to you contributions of two of the keynote speakers at the meeting, as we include in this issue short articles from Drs Jo Bishop and Louis Pangaro. In their presentations at the meeting they shared their valuable thoughts, and through a short commentary in this issue their valuable messages will also reach the readership of the journal. We also included a summary of the student plenary session delivered by osteopathic and allopathic medical students from the Netherlands and the United States. Students were invited to discuss their perspectives on the future during the session titled “What an inclusive future in the medical profession looks like to us.” And finally, this issue highlights the recipients of the 2022 IAMSE career and lifetime achievement awards.

I believe that this journal issue is important to review for not only the meeting attendees, but especially for those readers who were unable to attend the meeting. I hope this issue of Medical Science Educator will give all of us a nice overview of the work presented at the IAMSE meeting, and make you consider visiting or contributing to the 2023 Annual Meeting or any other international IAMSE meeting in the future.
