Welcome to the supplement issue of Medical Science Educator dedicated to the 25th Annual Meeting of the International Association of Medical Science Educators. This year, the theme of the conference was “Global Perspectives on Health Sciences Education.” Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting could not be held in person but took place online on June 12–17, 2021. As per tradition, we present in this annual supplement the abstracts of the posters and oral presentations that were accepted for presentation at the meeting.

I am honored to present to you contributions of three of the keynote speakers at the meeting, as we include in this issue short articles from Drs. Camille Bentley, Atsusi Hirumi, and Stewart Mennin. In their presentations at the meeting, they shared their valuable thoughts, and through a short commentary in this issue, their valuable messages will also reach the readership of the journal. We also included the Leadership Plenary of Dr. Neil Osheroff, President of IAMSE, in which he highlights the response of the International Association of Medical Science Educators to the COVID-19 pandemic. And finally, this issue highlights the recipients of the 2021 IAMSE career and lifetime achievement awards.

I believe that this journal issue is important to review for not only the meeting attendees, but especially for those readers who were unable to attend the meeting. I hope this issue of Medical Science Educator will give all of us a nice overview of the work presented at the IAMSE meeting, and make you consider visiting or contributing to the 2022 Annual Meeting or any other international IAMSE meeting in the future.
