Welcome to the third issue of Medical Science Educator of 2018. This issue features a number of new manuscripts reporting on medical education, which I hope will be of interest to you. The issue includes a meeting report from the 2018 GRIPE meeting, for which I was invited in my capacity of Editor-in-Chief of Medical Science Educator to deliver a pre-conference workshop on ways to get your scholarly work successfully published in an international journal on medical education. Of course the writing skills of the author are important, but at least as important is choosing the right strategy in submitting the work to the most appropriate journal. I am pleased that by these workshops the journal can help scholars in becoming successful authors.

At the IAMSE meeting in June, the second Outstanding Reviewer Award was presented to recognize one of the journal’s reviewers for his or her outstanding peer review efforts over the past year. The 2018 award was won by Shaadi Fouad Elswaifi for his excellent performance. The Editorial Board is thankful to him and all the IAMSE members who dedicate their valuable time to reviewing for the journal. If you are a member and not a reviewer yet, you are welcome to apply!

The Board is happy to see that every year more and more educators find their way to Medical Science Educator to present their scholarly work. I therefore hope you will enjoy this issue and that you will continue supporting Medical Science Educator both as a reader and as an author of your own scholarly work for the benefit of our work and the work of others!
