Stellt sich ein Patient mit anhaltenden, nicht durch einen Unfall oder eine Arthrose zu erklärende Gelenkschmerzen vor, sollten Sie an ein Knochenmarködem-Syndrom denken. Dieses ist zwar meist selbstlimitierend. Wichtig ist jedoch, dass eine Osteonekrose, die rasch progredient und zerstörend verläuft, nicht übersehen wird.
