Abstract

In this study, TiC coating and TiC/Ni composite coating were formed on the P110 steel surface, which is commonly used in oil casing, by argon arc cladding, to improve the wear resistance of P110 steel surface and support oil production. The microstructure, hardness, and wear resistance of the two coatings were analyzed and compared. The results show that TiC/Ni composite coating is superior to single TiC coating in microstructure, hardness, and wear resistance. The addition of Ni element makes the TiC particles in the coating finer and more evenly dispersed, and the addition of Ni element also effectively reduces the shedding of TiC particles during the wear process, thus improving the overall hardness and wear resistance of the coating. The formation of TiC/Ni composite coating effectively improves the wear resistance of P110 steel surface and provides an effective technical scheme for prolonging the service life of oil casing.
