Correction to: Can J Anesth/J Can Anesth (2018) 65:529–542 https://doi.org/10.1007/s12630-018-1065-7

In the article entitled “Intraoperative cerebral oximetry-based management for optimizing perioperative outcomes: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials” Can J Anesth 2018; 65: 529-42, we wish to clarify the following items:

  1. 1.

The article by Cohn et al. should be excluded from the meta-analysis because it measured thenar regional oximetry rather than cerebral oximetry (which was only included for the analysis of length of hospital stay and blood transfusions). Therefore Figure 4 was corrected. In the rest of the original analyses, the authors did not include this study.

  2. 2.

Figure 5 incorrectly referred to red blood cell transfusion instead of delirium. The corrected Figure 5 can be found below.

  3. 3.

Figure 5 in the original article incorrectly represented a subgroup analysis of transfusion outcome while Figure 6 incorrectly corresponded to the analysis of delirium as indicated in the figure legend of the original article. The corrected figures, as well as the original figures are now included in this erratum.
