Abstract
Double-lumen hemodialysis catheters (DLHCs) provide temporary hemodialysis accesses with real-time ultrasound safely assisting clinicians during central venous catheterization Saugel et al, Crit Care 21:225, (2017). Nevertheless, numerous complications have been reported, and some have been catastrophic. Though real-time ultrasound guidance is a precise and safe adjunct for venous catheterization, undesirable complications may be encountered without caution. One should bear in mind that there is a high possibility for catheter malposition, which may present with neck or mediastinal hematoma soon after this invasive procedure.
