Abstract
Lupus enteritis (LE) is a rare manifestation of SLE and is a visceral vasculitis involving predominantly the jejunum and ileum. A 17-year-old girl was admitted with acute onset abdominal pain and vomiting for 5 days. She was evaluated and found to have LE. She recovered completely with steroids and bowel rest. We described the 17-year-old girl with LE as the only presenting manifestation of active SLE. LE is extremely rare and a diagnostic challenge when it is the first presentation of SLE. Surgeons and physicians should be aware of such unusual causes of acute abdominal pain since early diagnosis and treatment lead to better outcome.
