Abstract
There is an urgent need to find solutions for the difficult and hazardous situation caused by the transport of dangerous goods by road. Secured parking areas are wanted for vehicles carrying these materials to comply with the legal requirements concerning driving and resting times. In our work, we analyze this need by applying a location model supported with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to study the coverage of this type of areas in Spain.
