Design calculations of the modulus of deformation of non-dilatant argillaceous (clay) soil based on the theoretical solution for a head resistance of a sounding device are presented. The results of calculations for the data of static sounding are compared with those taken as standards of the Russian Federation; a completely satisfactory correspondence is shown.
