Interaction Between Electron Beam and Electromagnetic Field in Terahertz Multiwave Cherenkov Generator with Diffraction Reflector

  • Published:
Russian Physics Journal Aims and scope

Using 2.5-D hybrid numerical electromagnetics code, the multiwave Cherenkov generator in terahertz frequency range (364–367 GHz) is simulated in the approximation of the absence of thermal power losses. 230 MW radiation pulses are obtained in the synchronization mode of three longitudinal resonances. A selfmodulation oscillatory mode of high-power (~100 MW) radiation with subnanosecond pulse length is identified in the absence of resonant synchronization.
