To the theory of dielectric properties of the Rochelle salt

The parametrical equations of state for the Rochelle salt expressing the field strength and polarizability through the acting field are analyzed. It is demonstrated that an explicit expression for the field strength through the polarizability in the form of a cubic polynomial is valid for limited intervals of temperatures and field strengths. A modification of the dependence of the polarizability on the acting field removes the limitations. Generalization of the determinant introduced by Mueller and used for solving the system of linear equations to the parameter determining the thermodynamic stability assigns the fundamental importance to the consideration of the Rochelle salt. Dependences of the stability determinant on the temperature and field strength characterizing the behavior of the Rochelle salt are demonstrated.
