Abstract
Magnetic nondestructive testing techniques were used to inspect and estimate the level and distribution of residual circular stresses in tubes used in construction of main gas pipelines in the initial state before operation. Tests were carried out on two double-seamed tubes of dimensions 1420 × 15.7 mm and 1420 × 18.7 mm and on two single-seamed tubes of dimensions 1420 × 15.7 mm, including stress measurements in three cross sections for each tube.
