Abstract

The data on the concentrations of 90Sr and 137Cs in 54 species of lichen and moss with different taxonomic natures, as well as in samples of lichen-moss plant cover, are reported. It is shown that currently (during the period of stabilization of global radioactive fallout) the detected contents of radionuclides in lichens and mosses serve as a background and are crucial for the long-term radioecological monitoring and forecasting.
