Russian Chemical Bulletin Aims and scope

Abstract

A series of novel energetic 2,4,8,10,12-pentanitrohexaazaisowurtzitanes bearing explosophores in the five-membered ring were synthesized using the reactions between 6-methoxymethyl-2,4,8,10,12-pentanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane and trinitromethane or between 6-chloromethyl-2,4,8,10,12-pentanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane and azides or nitrourethane salts followed by certain substitution reactions. The energy characteristics of the compounds synthesized were calculated.
