Ring expansion in 5-aryl-3-arylmethylidenefuran-2(3H)-ones by the reaction with ethyl diazoacetate

Abstract

Reaction of arylmethylidene derivatives of furan-2(3H)-one with ethyl diazoacetate is accompanied by elimination of nitrogen and leads to the substituted pyran-3(2H)-ones.
