Abstract
Solid-phase thermal decomposition of polynuclear NiII and CoII pivalate complexes was studied by differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry. The decomposition of the polynuclear (from bi-to hexanuclear) CoII carboxylate complexes is accompanied by aggregation to form a volatile octanuclear complex. Thermolysis of the polynuclear NiII carboxylates results in their destructure, and the phase composition of the decomposition products is determined by the nature of coordinated ligands.
