Contact Strength, Crack Resistance, and Abrasive Wear of Composite Materials Belonging to the System TiN–AlN

  • Published:
Refractories and Industrial Ceramics Aims and scope

Dependences of the contact strength and crack resistance on the load produced by an indenter are investigated, the basic relationships between the statistical mechanics of contact fracture obtained in [1], using as an example composite ceramics belonging to the system TiN–AlN, are verified, and relationships between abrasive wear and the mechanical characteristics of materials are established.
