Abstract
The use of cordierite for preparation of filtering ceramic materials is discussed. Phase composition and structure of permeable sintered cordierite-containing ceramics are considered. Results of a study of cordierite-based “honeycomb” materials used in the high-temperature catalytic conversion of methane are presented. The newly designed ceramic catalyst carriers are shown to conform with service requirements.
