Abstract
The preparation, spectroscopic properties, and catalase-like activity of the dimanganese(II) complex [Mn2L(OAc)(H2O)2](H2O)2 (H3L: 2,6-bis[(prolin-1-yl)methyl]4-t-butylphenol) are reported. The title compound was a suitable catalyst for the disproportionation of H2O2 into water and dioxygen under ambient conditions. Kinetic measurements resulted in the bimolecular rate law of d[O2]/dt = k[H2O2][Mn2L(OAc)(H2O)2](H2O)2].
