Stimulation of signal transmission in the model of neurons interacting with an active transistor substrate

  • Published:
Radiophysics and Quantum Electronics Aims and scope

We consider the model of a neuroelectronic interface consisting of synaptically coupled neuron generators interacting with a transistor substrate. The effect of stimulus-induced synaptic plasticity, i. e., dynamic enhancement of a coupling between neuron generators due to activation of a channel parallel to the synaptic signal transmission through a transistor substrate, is studied. It is shown that the substrate may serve as an active medium regulating the interneuron signal transmission.
