Abstract
Uranium sorption from sulfate-fluoride solutions on amino carboxylic and amino phosphoric polyampholytes was studied as influenced by the concentration of H2SO4, HF, and (NH4)2SO4, pH of the solution, and metal concentration in the solution. The sorption is well described by the equation K d = KC 1/ze similar to the Freundlich isotherm. The mechanism of the uranium chemisorption was suggested on the basis of the calculated speciation of uranium ions in sulfate-fluoride solutions and the results of an IR study.
